Volunteer Sign-up Sheet

We need people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty — to save the planet. (We’re being figurative, mostly).

Hillside Fund runs zero-waste stations at events across the Omaha area — and every single one of them needs real people standing at the bins, helping folks figure out what's compost, what's recycling, and what's actually trash. It's not glamorous. But it's one of the most direct ways to keep hundreds of pounds of waste out of the landfill in a single afternoon.

We also show up for neighborhood clean-ups, Earth Day events, VNA's Art & Soup, school composting programs, and a growing list of community partnerships.

Some of these we plan months out. Some come together in a week. That's why we're building this list — so when something comes up, we can send a quick email and see who's in.

What volunteering actually looks like:

Standing at a zero-waste sorting station and helping event guests put stuff in the right bin. Setting up compost education demos at schools. Hauling bins. Taking photos. Handing out info at a festival booth. Sometimes it's a two-hour shift at a Saturday event. Sometimes it's helping us pull off something bigger.

No experience needed. If you've composted before or worked events or have a sustainability background — great. If you just want to show up and be useful — also great.

Fill out the form below, and we'll reach out when something comes up.

We won't spam you. You'll get an occasional email when we need volunteers, and you can always say no. That's it.
